The DZR15 reaches deeper and hits harder. Medium-quality vendor data returns a 5.25 ideal-subwoofer preference score with 39Hz measured extension, deeper than the DZR12, and the bi-amped 2-inch compression driver and sophisticated onboard DSP target serious main-speaker duty at a 139dB peak claim. Its own cons note the bass-extension figure comes from truncated manufacturer data and should be read cautiously, and it lacks Bluetooth audio and app control, competing at this price with systems-grade alternatives from RCF and HK Audio.
The PRX915 adds app control, Bluetooth and JBL’s dealer network. High-quality vendor data shows a 4.77 ideal-subwoofer preference score with 51Hz measured extension, backed by JBL’s extensive service network, 12-band parametric EQ, and dbx DriveRack feedback suppression carried over from the PRX912, plus Bluetooth control via the JBL Pro Connect app. Its own cons note its measured preference trails the 12-inch PRX912, and at 53.1 lbs (24.1 kg) it’s meaningfully heavier to carry to a gig than the smaller model.
Buy the DZR15 if maximum output and the deepest measured bass extension in this pairing matter most.
