Short answer: the Partybox 710 for value and lower weight, the Partybox Ultimate 2 for output and current connectivity.
The Ultimate 2 is the far more powerful speaker. JBL rates it at 1500W RMS against the 710’s 800W, and its dual 264mm subwoofers, dual 124mm midrange and dual 30mm horn-loaded tweeters are a much larger array than the 710’s dual 8-inch woofers and dual 2.75-inch tweeters. Both are AC-only and both are IPX4, so the difference is output and driver quality rather than power source.
Connectivity is a generation apart. The 710 runs Bluetooth 5.1 with PartyBoost and a 3-band EQ, while the Ultimate 2 has Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi with AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Spotify Connect, Auracast, Smart EQ and an optical input. The 710 keeps the same karaoke mic, guitar, aux and USB playback inputs.
The 710 is the lighter and much cheaper option. At 28kg it is nearly 20kg lighter than the 47.68kg Ultimate 2, and it has been the value pick in this size class. Careful placement still matters for balanced bass on the 710.
Buy the Partybox Ultimate 2 if you want the highest rated output, Wi-Fi streaming and the newest features.
Buy the Partybox 710 if you want a large JBL party speaker for far less money and can accept less output and older Bluetooth.

Older model: the JBL Partybox Ultimate (rated 4.7/5).
Pros: A 1500W RMS system (up from the original Ultimate’s 1100W) driving dual 264mm subwoofers, dual 124mm mid-range drivers and dual 30mm horn-loaded PEN tweeters, with manufacturer-rated extension to 28Hz (-6dB) from a 1.05m-tall cabinet. Wi-Fi streaming with AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Spotify Connect sits alongside Bluetooth 5.3 and Auracast multi-speaker linking. Inputs cover an XLR line-in, mic, guitar, aux, optical and USB-C playback, and karaoke gets AI vocal removal. JBL One app control, a full-panel light show with floor projection, and wheels plus a handle for its 47.68kg. IPX4 splash resistance.
Cons: AC-only: there is no battery, so it needs mains power wherever it goes. At 47.68kg and just over a metre tall it is still a two-person lift despite the wheels, and 47.68kg is heavier than the 39kg model it replaces. IPX4 only shrugs off splashes, not rain or dust. No independent measurements have been published yet, so its real output and sound quality can’t be compared with ranked speakers. Not yet sold in the US.

Pros: At 28 kg, JBL Partybox 710 combines 2x 8” woofer, 2x 2.75” tweeter with Bluetooth and aux. Ipx4 protection and stereo playback make its feature set practical for its intended room or portable use. The handle and wheels are convenient.
Cons: Careful placement is still important for balanced bass. Very large and heavy.
