Short answer: the Rockster 2 if you need battery power, the Partybox Ultimate 2 for output, streaming and inputs.
The Rockster 2 is the one that runs on battery. Teufel rates it for 15 hours and pairs a single 380mm (15-inch) woofer with a horn-loaded 35mm tweeter, with the horn giving it consistent sound well off axis. It is a genuinely portable event speaker in a way the AC-only Partybox Ultimate 2 is not.
The Partybox Ultimate 2 is the more powerful and better-connected cabinet. JBL rates it at 1500W RMS against the Rockster 2’s 440W, and it adds Wi-Fi with AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Spotify Connect, which the Teufel lacks. It also has more inputs, including mic, guitar, aux, optical and USB-C playback, where the Rockster 2 has no USB playback.
Bass and weather protection split the two. The Rockster 2 reaches a rated 36Hz (-6dB); JBL rates the Partybox Ultimate 2 deeper at 28Hz (-6dB), and the Rockster’s bass output drops off further at high volume. The JBL is IPX4 against the Teufel’s IPX2, so it shrugs off splashes while the Teufel only handles light moisture.
Buy the Partybox Ultimate 2 if you have mains power and want maximum output, Wi-Fi streaming and the widest input set.
Buy the Rockster 2 if you need a battery-powered speaker that still fills a large outdoor space.

Older model: the JBL Partybox Ultimate (rated 4.7/5).
Pros: A 1500W RMS system (up from the original Ultimate’s 1100W) driving dual 264mm subwoofers, dual 124mm mid-range drivers and dual 30mm horn-loaded PEN tweeters, with manufacturer-rated extension to 28Hz (-6dB) from a 1.05m-tall cabinet. Wi-Fi streaming with AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Spotify Connect sits alongside Bluetooth 5.3 and Auracast multi-speaker linking. Inputs cover an XLR line-in, mic, guitar, aux, optical and USB-C playback, and karaoke gets AI vocal removal. JBL One app control, a full-panel light show with floor projection, and wheels plus a handle for its 47.68kg. IPX4 splash resistance.
Cons: AC-only: there is no battery, so it needs mains power wherever it goes. At 47.68kg and just over a metre tall it is still a two-person lift despite the wheels, and 47.68kg is heavier than the 39kg model it replaces. IPX4 only shrugs off splashes, not rain or dust. No independent measurements have been published yet, so its real output and sound quality can’t be compared with ranked speakers. Not yet sold in the US.

Teufel Rockster 2: $1,269.94 eBay
Pros: Sounds better and more evenly tuned than the JBL Partybox 720. Horn-loaded tweeter gives far more consistent off-axis sound, unlike the Partybox 720’s dual tweeters, which suffer from comb-filtering interference. Gets louder without distorting - the Partybox 720 starts breaking up at high volume well before this does. Projects clearly over long outdoor distances, covering a large area evenly.
Cons: Not quite as deep bass as the JBL Partybox 720. Bass output drops off further at high volume.
