The JBL Partybox Encore is the better-sounding, deeper-bass choice. A great sounding party speaker with somewhat boosted bass and two included wireless microphones. Its bass reaches about 38Hz before falling 10dB, against 56Hz for the Gemini GGO-650L. It links with other speakers (PartyBoost up to 100 speakers), which the Gemini GGO-650L cannot. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Gemini GGO-650L lacks. Watch for: Only IPX4 splash resistance.
The Gemini GGO-650L is the longer-running, lighter option. Claimed 10 hours (manufacturer specified) battery life, ipx5 protection and stereo playback make its feature set practical for its intended room or portable use. It is rated for 10 hours of battery against 6 for the JBL Partybox Encore. At 9.3 lbs (4.2 kg) it weighs noticeably less than the JBL Partybox Encore at 13.9 lbs (6.3 kg).
Buy the JBL Partybox Encore 2, the replacement for the discontinued JBL Partybox Encore; it is rated higher for sound quality than the Gemini GGO-650L.
