Short answer: choose the Electro-Voice Everse 12 for serious battery-powered PA output, outdoor use, and a larger audience; choose the Bose S1 Pro+ only when low carry weight and its compact mixer matter more than maximum level. The Everse is a 14.2kg 12-inch PA with a 126dB published maximum-SPL claim, while the Bose is a 6.5kg portable PA with a 109dB claim and a more performer-friendly control surface.
The Everse 12 is built to cover a much more demanding event. Its 400W amplifier, 12-inch woofer, IP43 protection, removable battery, 100° by 60° coverage, USB-C power output, and four-channel mixer with ducking and effects make it the more capable outdoor PA. It also has two XLR/TRS inputs, app EQ, and a 12-hour-plus battery claim. It remains mono and deliberately prioritizes output over deep-subwoofer bass, but it is the better option when one portable speaker must reach a larger crowd.
The Bose is easier to carry and operate for a small performance. Buy the Electro-Voice Everse 12 for outdoor durability, much higher claimed output, a larger woofer, battery swapping, and a full PA mixer.
Buy the Bose S1 Pro+ for a much lighter, more compact speaker where integrated controls and flexible placement matter more than scale.
Buy the Bose S1 Pro+ if the price is the priority over sound quality, or the Electro-Voice Everse 12 if sound quality is the priority over the price.
If water resistance matters to you, the Electro-Voice Everse 12 at IP43 (light spray) holds up far better than the Bose S1 Pro+ at no water resistance.
