Short answer: these are battery-powered PA speakers, not Bluetooth party speakers, and that framing decides the comparison. The Everse 12 ranks #1 and the Everse 8 ranks #3 out of 17 party-size speakers, at $1,046.91 and $799.
The gap is output and weight, and both scale together. The Everse 12 hits 126 dB against 121 dB and reaches 45 Hz against 50 Hz, from a 12” woofer rather than an 8”. It also weighs 14.2 kg (31.3 lbs) against 8 kg (17.6 lbs), a genuine two-person-or-a-trolley difference if you are loading a car repeatedly. Both are rated 400 W.
Five decibels is more than it sounds. It is roughly a doubling of perceived loudness, and in PA terms it is the difference between covering a room of fifty and covering an outdoor crowd. If you are hired to make sound for people, that headroom is the product.
Both share the same character: genuinely good midrange and treble by party-speaker standards (the Everse 12 is the best-sounding extremely loud speaker on this site), but designed for loudness rather than deep bass, and neither is stereo. One cabinet is one mono source; you buy two for stereo, which is how PA works. Both are IP43, so light rain is survivable and a poolside is not.
Buy the Everse 8 for speeches, small venues, buskers, a classroom or a party of thirty. It does everything the 12 does, quieter and half the weight.
Buy the Everse 12 if you regularly cover larger crowds or outdoor space, or need the extra low end for music playback.
