#96 Infinity Speakers REFERENCE SUB R12: $500 Discontinued eBay
Same family: the Infinity Reference R152 (smaller bookshelf, rated 3.8/5), the Infinity Reference R162 (larger bookshelf, rated 3.8/5), the Infinity Reference 253 (smaller floorstanding, rated 3.5/5), the Infinity Reference R263 (larger floorstanding, rated 4.4/5), the Infinity Reference RC252 (smaller center, rated 4.4/5), the Infinity Reference RC263 (larger center, rated 4.2/5) and the Infinity Reference RS152 (surround, rated 1.4/5).
Pros: A ported 12 inch home theater subwoofer with decent output for its size, now discontinued. A 12-inch ported subwoofer with 300W RMS that averages 112.6dB from 40 to 80Hz, a good home theater value option. Slipstream tuned-port technology delivers optimized low-frequency sound, with seamless integration and powerful performance for budget-conscious buyers.
Cons: Like most 12-inch budget subs it does not go much below 30Hz, so deep movie effects call for a larger sub. It won a shootout at about $170, but it now sells for $500, which erases much of that value case. Discontinued.
