#62 SVS PB16-Ultra: $2,900 Discontinued eBay
Newer model: the SVS PB17-Ultra R-Evolution, ranked lower, rated 4.1/5, released Jan 2025.
Older model: the SVS PB13-Ultra (ranked lower, rated 4.1/5). See every SVS PB Ultra generation.
Pros: A 16 inch ported subwoofer with very strong output down to the lowest notes, great for big home theaters. Independent CEA-2010 testing records 116.8 dB at 20 Hz and 121.2 dB through 40-80 Hz. The ported, front enclosure with 16” (406mm) driver with ported design has the headroom for demanding film bass in a large room.
Cons: The 635.0H x 551.2W x 718.8D mm cabinet and 79.2 kg mass make this a serious placement and moving commitment. Ported output does not solve room modes, so careful placement and calibration remain essential. Discontinued.
