#126 Monoprice 12in 150-Watt Powered: $186.48 Amazon $186.48 eBay
Pros: A very cheap 12 inch ported subwoofer that plays loud for the money, a simple first subwoofer for movies. 12-inch ported with 150W RMS delivers extraordinary output for the price. Excellent performance reaches 111.7dB average. Easy setup at ultra-budget price point.
Cons: Output drops off below about 50Hz, port chuffing becomes audible around 35Hz on bass drops, and a resonance near 100Hz was audible in outdoor testing. It plays loud for the price, but it is a mid-bass subwoofer, not a deep one.
