#8 Sony Bravia Theater Quad: $2,698.00 Amazon $2,698.00 eBay
Pros: A fully wireless four-speaker Atmos system that sounds clean, crisp and cohesive, with clear dialogue and convincing height and surround placement. Because every speaker has the same drivers, effects move between units without gaps. What Hi-Fi? gave it four stars. Setup is easy with phone-mic calibration, and the control hub passes 4K at 120Hz with VRR, which suits gamers. AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and Alexa or Google voice support are included.
Cons: It ships without a subwoofer, and bass lacks weight and impact, so explosions and scores feel light unless you add an optional Sony sub. The price is far above soundbar systems such as the Samsung HW-Q990H, which include a sub. Chromecast is not supported, and the speakers do not match Sony’s optional subs visually.
