#3 Samsung HW-Q990H: $1,497.99 Amazon $1,497.99 eBay
Pros: A complete 11.1.4 system with a wireless sub and two wireless rear speakers, each with up-firing drivers, so movies fill the room with convincing overhead effects. Sound is detailed and full bodied, and dialogue stays clear in busy scenes. Two HDMI inputs pass 4K at 120Hz for consoles, and it streams over AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Roon Ready.
Cons: The dual 8 inch sub can sound heavy with music until you turn it down, and bass starts to compress near maximum volume. In The Hook Up’s premium shootout it placed behind Bose Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar and Sonos Arc Ultra systems. It sounds very close to Samsung HW-Q990F, which usually sells for much less.
