Pros: The Ambeo Max creates a big, enveloping surround bubble from one bar, with deep bass that reaches about 30 Hz without a separate sub. It decodes Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and MPEG-H, and a calibration microphone tunes it to your room. Three HDMI inputs let it act as a hub for consoles and players.
Cons: It is very large and heavy, so it needs a sturdy stand or wall and a big TV. Rear speakers cannot be added. Its bass is less tight than the KEF XIO, which beat it in a direct review comparison.
