Same family: the RCF NX 910-A (smaller model, rated 3.5/5), the RCF NX 912-A (smaller model, rated 4/5), the RCF NX 932-A (smaller model, rated 4.2/5) and the RCF NX 945-A (larger model, ranked higher, rated 4.1/5).

Pros: A sturdy powered 15 inch PA speaker in plywood with wide coverage, flexible rigging and onboard bass processing. The plywood enclosure, FiRPHASE/Bass Motion Control processing and flexible rigging make it a sturdier systems alternative to the RCF ART 715-A MK5, with a wide 100° x 60° pattern and 131dB claimed peak. Measured bass extension of 53Hz (-3dB).

Cons: The truncated vendor measurement does not yield a preference score, preventing a confident tonal comparison with the scored leaders. At 24.1kg it is notably heavier than the ART-series alternatives.

Frequency Response

How the RCF NX 915-A measures across the audible range. A flatter listening window (the sound arriving straight at you) is more neutral: peaks sound forward or harsh, dips sound recessed. The estimated in-room response adds what a typical room does, and there a gentle, even tilt down toward the treble is ideal. Both curves are shifted so their 300 Hz to 3 kHz average sits at 0 dB.

EQ for a Neutral Response

Flattens the measured listening window from the RCF NX 915-A's own bass extension up to 16 kHz. Set a preamp of -2.9 dB, then add these filters to any parametric equalizer in the signal path: the speaker's app or DSP if it has parametric EQ, a miniDSP, Equalizer APO or Wavelet. Boosts are kept to 3 dB, and EQ cannot fix how evenly the speaker spreads sound off-axis, which is why some speakers gain more than others. Calculated by Speaker Ranking from the spinorama measurements above.
