#52 Yamaha YST-SW1500: $699 Discontinued eBay
Pros: A heavy duty ported 12 inch subwoofer with a big amplifier and strong, low distortion output, now discontinued. It has a 1000W RMS amplifier and measured 115.8dB average from 40 to 80Hz, reaching 118.8dB at 80Hz. The extra long stroke driver is specified for low distortion, and the listed response runs down to 16Hz. Several reviewers gave it awards.
Cons: Output falls to 96.1dB at 25Hz and 81.5dB at 20Hz, so it does not match its 16Hz rating at high levels. The cabinet weighs 29.0kg and is about 51cm tall, 42cm wide and 45cm deep. The warranty length is not confirmed. It is discontinued, so it can only be bought used or from remaining stock.
