#128 Monoprice Monolith M-12 V2: $900 Discontinued eBay
Older model: the Monoprice Monolith 12 THX Ultra (ranked higher, rated 3.8/5). See every Monoprice Monolith generation.
Same family: the Monoprice Monolith M-10 V2 (smaller subwoofer, rated 3.4/5) and the Monoprice Monolith M-15 V2 (larger subwoofer, ranked higher, rated 4.2/5).
Pros: A good value THX certified 12 inch subwoofer with a port plug for sealed use and XLR inputs, now discontinued. It has a 500W RMS amplifier and measured output averages about 115dB from 40 to 80Hz, with 108dB at 20Hz and 100dB at 15Hz. Response is very linear with extension down to 20Hz. The port plug allows sealed use, and variable phase and XLR inputs add flexibility.
Cons: The cabinet is large at about 531mm tall, 655mm wide and 424mm deep, and weighs 44.6kg. Output at 15Hz is 100dB, so the very deepest effects are lower than at 20Hz. It has no USB, HDMI, or optical inputs and no app or room correction. It is discontinued, so it can only be bought used.
Notes: Product # 42847
