Bowers & Wilkins CWM7.5 - ranked #21 of 21 In-Wall & In-Ceiling Speakers · Editor's rating 2.6/5

#21 Bowers & Wilkins CWM7.5: $1,600 per pair Discontinued eBay

Newer model: the Bowers & Wilkins CWM 7.5 S2, ranked higher, estimated 3/5.

Pros: A two-way in-wall speaker with a 5” mid/bass driver, a 1” tweeter and an integrated back box, so it does not depend on the wall cavity. The only Spinorama data shows very consistent directivity (2.49dB directivity index deviation) and bass to about 59Hz (-10dB). Measured bass extension of 69.0Hz (-3dB).

Cons: That data is low quality and shows a very uneven on-axis response (1.99dB average deviation) and a rough predicted in-room response (0.17), for a preference score of 1.63. Replaced by the CWM 7.5 S2. Discontinued.

How it compares: Just above it: KEF CI50R.
