These are not really the same size class, and that is the honest framing here. The Teufel Rockster Air 2 ranks #5 of 17 battery-powered PA speakers by sound quality at $499.99; the Harman Kardon Neo ranks #58 of 62 small speakers by sound quality at $90.
The Teufel Rockster Air 2 is the longer-running option. A battery PA speaker with good sound, a very long rated battery, even side coverage, and inputs for a mic and guitar. It is rated for 58 hours of battery against 10 for the Harman Kardon Neo. It supports aptX HD Bluetooth, which the Harman Kardon Neo lacks. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Harman Kardon Neo lacks. Watch for: Bass isn’t as deep as the JBL Partybox 130’s boosted bass, though the JBL’s is boomy rather than truly deep.
Why pick the Harman Kardon Neo: A pocket sized waterproof speaker with an attachment loop and a microphone for calls, light enough to carry anywhere. The catch: Bass is limited by its 105Hz specification.
One note: the Harman Kardon Neo is discontinued and no longer widely available new.
Buy the Teufel Rockster Air 2 ($499.99) for a battery-powered PA speaker; the Harman Kardon Neo ($90) suits a small speaker instead.
