Short answer: the Rockster Air 2 for most people - it’s cheaper, more compact, and actually runs longer on battery despite being the smaller speaker; the Rockster Neo if you need more output and don’t mind paying and carrying more for it. These rank #11 and #13 out of 50 party-size speakers, at $807.72 and $499.99, with the Rockster Neo costing $307.73 more.
Both share the same Teufel house sound, which our own notes describe as solid but not top of class - so this comparison is mostly about scale, not tuning philosophy. The Rockster Neo is rated at 200W against the Rockster Air 2’s 80W, with a larger 300mm coaxial woofer/tweeter versus the Air 2’s 10” woofer and separate tweeter, and it’s the heavier of the two at 17.35 kg (38.3 lbs) against 14.15 kg (31.2 lbs).
Battery life actually favors the smaller speaker. The Rockster Air 2 runs 58 hours against the Rockster Neo’s 36 (56 in Eco Mode) - unusual for the bigger, pricier unit to lose here. The Rockster Neo does add a built-in top-mounted microphone and dual XLR combo inputs against the Air 2’s single mic/guitar/line setup, plus a real IP44 rating where the Air 2 has none.
Buy the Rockster Air 2 if you want the same Teufel sound for less money, less weight, and more runtime. Buy the Rockster Neo if you specifically need the extra output or the added XLR input and built-in mic.
If battery life is a priority, the Teufel Rockster Air 2 is rated for 58 hours versus 36 hours for the Teufel Rockster Neo.
If water resistance matters to you, the Teufel Rockster Neo at IP44 (splashing) holds up far better than the Teufel Rockster Air 2 at no water resistance.

The Two Speakers In Full
Teufel Rockster Neo: $807.72
Pros: Similar tuning to the other Teufel speakers - pretty good, but not top of class.
Cons: Not quite as good sounding as the JBL Partybox 330 or Electro-Voice Everse 12. Bass isn’t as deep as the JBL Partybox 330 or even the JBL Partybox 130.

Teufel Rockster Air 2: $499.99 Amazon
Pros: More consistent off-axis sound than the JBL Partybox 130, thanks to its single horn-loaded compression driver. Projects sound more evenly to the sides, unlike the JBL’s narrower front-firing dispersion. Cleaner instrument separation at high volume than the JBL Partybox 130, which turns anemic and loses bass at max volume despite its bass boost.
Cons: Bass isn’t as deep as the JBL Partybox 130’s boosted bass, though the JBL’s is boomy rather than truly deep. Bass and treble aren’t perfectly controlled at maximum volume - can sound hollow or too bright unless turned down from default. Not meaningfully louder than its 3-year-old predecessor, and the reviewer found the overall tuning a bit worse.
