The SB-3000 is the current, more powerful sealed sub. Its 13-inch driver on 800W averaged 118.7dB from 40 to 80Hz in Audioholics’ CEA-2010 tests, with tight, accurate bass and a 3-band parametric EQ in its app. Being sealed, it gives up deep output: 96.6dB at 20Hz, so a big room may want two.
The Starke Sound SW15 is a discontinued sealed 15-inch built for the deepest bass. It plays down to about 14Hz with a flat response from 10 to 50Hz and no subsonic filter, so it suits movie effects and organ notes. Its 450W amplifier is less than the SB-3000’s, and it is only available used.
Buy the SVS SB-3000. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the Starke Sound SW15 is discontinued.
