Short answer: the Teufel Rockster Neo for battery life and instrument inputs, the Sony ULT Tower 7 for price. The Neo claims 36 hours, or 56 in Eco Mode, and pairs a 300mm long-throw coaxial woofer rated to 124.5dB with dual XLR/instrument combo inputs. The Tower 7’s claimed 30-hour battery is shorter, but at $548 it costs less and adds wheels and a 360-degree seven-driver layout.
This pits Sony’s Tower 7, a 360-degree consumer party speaker, against the Teufel Rockster Neo, a performer-focused battery PA. The Tower 7 offers seven drivers for 360-degree sound, a claimed 30-hour battery, wheels, IPX4 splash resistance, 10-band EQ and a full RCA/XLR/USB-C/mic input section. The Teufel Rockster Neo offers a 300mm long-throw coaxial woofer rated to 124.5dB max SPL, a claimed 36-hour battery (56 with Eco Mode), dual XLR/instrument combo inputs and USB-C charging.
Choose the Tower 7 for wheels for easier transport, immersive 360-degree party sound and a lower price: Its wheels also make it easier to roll between rooms or events. Its 360-degree drivers and ULT1/ULT2/EQ modes suit a living-room-to-backyard party speaker better than a performer-focused PA cabinet. At $548 it also costs less.
Choose the Teufel Rockster Neo for longer battery life and dedicated instrument inputs: Its claimed 36h battery beats the Tower 7’s 30h.
Buy the Sony ULT Tower 7 at $548 if you want a party speaker. Buy the Teufel Rockster Neo at $807.72 if you want a battery-powered PA speaker instead.
