Short answer: the Electro-Voice Everse 8 for serious PA output, the Onn Large Party gen 2 on price. The Everse 8’s high-efficiency drivers reach 2-3x the volume of typical speakers for the same wattage, with good midrange and treble plus a removable battery and XLR input, though it plays mono and prioritizes loudness over deep bass. The Onn costs far less with karaoke mic and guitar inputs and wheels built in, though Consumer Reports found its bass boomy and treble smeared with no app or EQ.
