Short answer: the Monoprice SW-15, if you are buying new. The PSB Speakers SubSeries 450 ranks higher than it (#5 vs #14 of 212 subwoofers, 4.2/5 vs 4.1/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the Monoprice SW-15 is still sold new at $499.99.
Why pick the Monoprice SW-15: A big 15 inch subwoofer with powerful, punchy bass at a budget price, great for movies in a large room. The tradeoff: Budget-tier design, ported room gain dependency, 66.1 lbs (30 kg) mid-size, and limited dynamic headroom.
Why pick the PSB Speakers SubSeries 450: A 12 inch passive radiator subwoofer with tight, precise bass that suits music as well as movies, now discontinued. The tradeoff: Output falls to 94.1dB at 20Hz, so the lowest movie effects get far less output than the midbass.
Buy the Monoprice SW-15, since the PSB Speakers SubSeries 450 is discontinued and only worth hunting down used.
