The 720 packs in more for the money. Its pros describe it as JBL’s most powerful battery-equipped Partybox, combining 800W of output, two removable batteries, wheels, a light show, Auracast, USB-C playback, app EQ, and karaoke and guitar inputs. Independent testing cited in its notes confirms very high output, strong bass, and a flexible 5 or 7 band EQ, enough to easily cover a backyard or large event. Its cons are mostly about handling: at 31kg and 94cm tall it’s still cumbersome despite the wheels, its front-facing vertical driver layout gives uneven sound to listeners at the sides or behind it, bass compresses at very high volume, and reviewers note a faint hiss. The default tuning is dark and bass-heavy, so it needs the app EQ to sound its best.
