Short answer: the JBL Charge 6, and it is not close. The Skullcandy Terrain is IPX7 rated with a carry strap and 14-18 hours of battery depending on model, but it has no bass, very rolled off treble and distortion in the treble, and it just does not sound good. The Charge 6 is more neutral than the Charge 5 with a flatter response through the mids and treble, though it still has boosted bass, recessed mids and brightness above 2kHz.
Buy the JBL Charge 6. It is rated higher for sound quality, and saving $70.46 with the Skullcandy Terrain does not make up for the sound-quality gap.
Battery life favors the JBL Charge 6: rated for 24 hours against 14 hours for the Skullcandy Terrain.
