#86 Starke Sound SW12: $670 Discontinued eBay
Same family: the Starke Sound SW15 (larger subwoofer, ranked higher, rated 3.9/5).
Pros: A compact sealed 12 inch subwoofer with a strong amplifier and a tough glass fiber cone, now discontinued. It has a 450W RMS amplifier and is rated 16 to 240Hz. Measured output averages 114.1dB from 40 to 80Hz and reaches 101.2dB at 25Hz. XLR and RCA inputs give flexible connections, and the compact cabinet weighs only 17.9 kg.
Cons: Output falls to 93.5dB at 20Hz and 88.7dB at 15Hz, so it will not rumble like a larger or ported sub. A 12 inch sealed design may run out of output in a large room. It has no app or built-in room correction. It is discontinued, so it has to be bought used.
