#15 OSD (Optimal Speaker Design) SS8: $249 Discontinued eBay
Pros: Independent CEA-2010 testing records 76.7 dB at 20 Hz and 111.0 dB through 40-80 Hz. The ported, side enclosure with 8” (203mm) driver is best suited to upper-bass support in a modest room.
Cons: Deep-bass output is limited relative to its midbass result, so it is not the right choice for the lowest movie effects. The 400.0H x 539.8W x 139.7D mm cabinet and 5.2 kg mass still need deliberate placement and calibration. Discontinued.
Notes: low profile (<8in)
How it compares: Just above it: Dayton Audio MKSX4 - $104 cheaper, 1.2dB more max output. Just below it: Klipsch Flexus Sub 100 - $31 more, 1.9dB less max output.
