#168 Monoprice MSUB-A122: $84.10 Discontinued eBay
Pros: A very cheap 12 inch ported subwoofer with a curved cabinet for basic home theater bass, now discontinued. The 12 inch driver is powered by a 150W RMS amplifier and rated 25 to 250Hz. Measured output averages 109.3dB across the bands from 40 to 63Hz and peaks at 111.9dB at 50Hz. The low price made it an easy way to add basic bass to a small system.
Cons: Output drops to 92.3dB at 31.5Hz, so it has very little deep bass. The cabinet is large at 432 x 438 x 445mm and listed at 34kg, which is big for its output. It is discontinued, so it can only be found used, and its rating is below 3.8.
