Newer model: the Genelec 7050C, ranked lower, estimated 2.7/5, released Jun 2018. See every Genelec 7050 generation.
Pros: A discontinued compact studio subwoofer with five channel inputs and automatic startup, built for small monitoring setups. It uses an 8 inch driver with a 70W RMS amplifier and a ported enclosure rated from 25 to 85Hz. Measured output averages 100.3dB from 40 to 80Hz and holds 92.8dB at 25Hz. Measured distortion stays under -30dB.
Cons: Output is low for the price, averaging only 100.3dB from 40 to 80Hz, so it suits small rooms and near field monitoring rather than a home theater. It has only balanced XLR inputs and no RCA, so consumer gear needs adapters. At 18.0 kg and about 409 mm tall it takes real desk or floor space. It is discontinued, so it has to be bought used.
