Pros: The HT-S100F is a simple, slim bar that makes speech easier to follow than most flat TV speakers, and its Voice mode lifts dialogue further for late night news or talk shows. It connects over HDMI ARC so the TV remote controls the volume. The sound spreads fairly wide for a single bar.

Cons: Bass is thin and rolls off early, so action movies lack weight and there is no way to add a subwoofer. In The Hook Up’s sixteen bar budget shootout it finished near the bottom, with a peaky midrange and soft treble, and bars like the Ultimea Poseidon M60 and Saiyin SBP sounded fuller. It has no aux input and does not decode Atmos or DTS.
