Pros: The Streambar SE combines a Roku 4K streaming player with a tiny speaker, which suits small rooms, bedrooms or an older TV that needs both streaming and better sound. Dialogue comes through clearly, and it sounds fuller than its size suggests. A Roku wireless subwoofer can be added later.

Cons: Two small drivers cannot produce much bass or scale, so movies sound small. In The Hook Up’s budget shootout it was beaten easily by bars like the Ultimea Poseidon M60 and Saiyin SBP. It cannot decode Dolby or DTS, so the TV must be set to PCM.
