Same family: the Tannoy VX6 (smaller model, estimated 2.9/5), the Tannoy VX12 (larger model, rated 3.1/5) and the Tannoy VX15HP (larger model, estimated 3.1/5).
Pros: A passive model from Tannoy’s VX range alongside the measured Tannoy VX12: the 8” model, with a little more output and bass than the VX 6. Every VX uses a Dual Concentric driver with the tweeter in the center of the woofer, so the sound comes from one point and stays consistent off axis. Tannoy rates it at 92dB sensitivity and 119dB peak / 113dB average.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so it can’t be compared with ranked PA speakers. It needs an external amplifier, ideally with Tannoy’s recommended EQ, and US dealers list it as a special order with long lead times.
