Pros: A passive model from Tannoy’s VX range alongside the measured Tannoy VX12: the 6” model, for background music, speech and small stages. Every VX uses a Dual Concentric driver with the tweeter in the center of the woofer, so the sound comes from one point and stays consistent off axis. Tannoy rates it at 91dB sensitivity and 117dB peak / 111dB average.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so it can’t be compared with ranked PA speakers. It needs an external amplifier, ideally with Tannoy’s recommended EQ, and US dealers list it as a special order with long lead times.
