#49 Tannoy VX15HP Passive Estimated eBay
Same family: the Tannoy VX6 (smaller model, estimated 2.9/5), the Tannoy VX8 (smaller model, estimated 3/5) and the Tannoy VX12 (smaller model, rated 3.1/5).
Pros: A passive model from Tannoy’s VX range alongside the measured Tannoy VX12: the high-power 15” model, whose 99dB sensitivity gets loud from modest amplifier power. Every VX uses a Dual Concentric driver with the tweeter in the center of the woofer, so the sound comes from one point and stays consistent off axis. Tannoy rates it at 99dB sensitivity and 125dB continuous.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so it can’t be compared with ranked PA speakers. It needs an external amplifier, ideally with Tannoy’s recommended EQ, and US dealers list it as a special order with long lead times.
