What the Gallo Acoustics TR-1 does well: A sealed 10 inch subwoofer that fills in upper bass behind smaller speakers in a modest room. Watch for: Deep-bass output is limited relative to its midbass result, so it is not the right choice for the lowest movie effects.
Buy the Wharfedale DX-1 or the Gallo Acoustics TR-1, whichever you find used in better condition; both are discontinued. For a new speaker, start with the Edifier T5s instead.
