The EX10 measures notably deeper. Its vendor data returns a 4.70 ideal-subwoofer preference score with 52Hz measured extension, one of the deepest results in this size class, driven by a 3-inch-diaphragm compression driver and integrated DSP tuned for vocal clarity and controlled throw. The A-10 comes in lower at 4.93 preference score with a shallower roughly 80Hz measured extension.
The A-10 is passive, which changes the buying calculus entirely. It needs an external amplifier and processing to perform correctly, adding cost and complexity that the fully active EX10 avoids, but that also means installers can choose their own amp and DSP rather than being locked to what is built in.
