Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 vs Soundcore Motion+

Last updated: August 16, 2026

Short answer: the Soundcore Motion+ for better sound quality, the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 for the lower price. The Soundcore Motion+ ranks #3 of 136 medium speakers at $79.99. The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 ranks #84 at $59.99, $20 cheaper.

What the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 offers: A small, IP67-rated design that floats and charges over USB-C. Watch for: Its bass does not reach as deep as the top-ranked speakers and sounds a little thuddy; beyond USB-C, it is not much of an upgrade over the Wonderboom 3.

What the Soundcore Motion+ offers: The Motion+ provides deeper bass, stereo playback, an app, EQ, and an aux input, but it is substantially larger than the Wonderboom 4.

Buy the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 if the price matters more than sound quality. Buy the Soundcore Motion+ if sound quality matters more than the price.

Pros: Small size.

Cons: Bass isn’t as deep as the top-ranked speakers and is a little thuddy. Not much improvement over the previous Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 besides the USB-C charging port.

Soundcore Motion+: $79.99 used, Discontinued Amazon

Soundcore Motion+ ranking card

Pros: The previous best sounding in class, still a great speaker with separate tweeters, more bass at full volume and better off-axis treble frequency response than the Uboom L. Just okay with the default EQ, I highly recommend using this EQ setting from r/kai7895 to get it more neutral. To achieve the absolute best sound you’ll need the Wavelet app (Android only) and set the provided Wavelet EQ in there too. Turn off the wavelet EQ for outdoor use. An alternative is Oluv’s EQ which only needs the Soundcore app EQ.

Cons: Not quite as neutral or detailed as the Uboom L. Without the above EQ, this speaker will rank around #25 in the rankings. Discontinued.
