Both share an IP67 rating, but sound quality is where they split. The Ranger’s cons note thuddy bass that doesn’t dig as deep as higher ranked speakers, yet the XE200’s cons are more severe: it’s described as sounding hollow, very muffled, with rolled off treble and a weird midrange boost, and called worse than Sony’s own XB33.
