Short answer: the Soundcore Motion Boom+. It ranks #47 of 73 boombox speakers by sound quality at $140; the Turtlebox Grande ranks #54 and costs $730, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.
What the Turtlebox Grande offers: 10-inch woofer. IP67 submersible shell with crush-proof ABS exterior. 158Wh battery provides ~3 days of playback. Bluetooth 5.4, party mode (100+ speakers). Watch for: They pretty much lie about all their specs and sound just okay in all youtube sound samples. Only 100w will never hit 126db at a reasonable measuring distance. Putting your db meter right against the speaker doesn’t count, 1 meter distance is the standard. Barely any bass for a 10” woofer. Overpriced and not worth it.
What the Soundcore Motion Boom+ offers: 80W stereo from dual 30W woofers + dual 10W tweeters with titanium drivers for treble clarity. 13,400mAh battery for 20 hours (12-15 at high volume). IP67 waterproof, floats, rugged build inspires confidence. Bluetooth 5.3 multipoint pairing, Soundcore app EQ, PartyCast 2.0 mode. USB-C input, USB-A output for powerbank. Watch for: Default presets are all warm sounding with rolled off treble. Will need a custom EQ to get closer to neutral. A shrill sounding 6khz peak comes out when volume is above about 60%. Not much deeper bass than a Motion Boom and a lot less deep bass than other speakers in the class.
Buy the Soundcore Motion Boom+. It ranks higher for sound quality than the Turtlebox Grande and costs less, so there is no real case for the other one.
