The Harman Kardon Go + Play 3 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass option. Warm sound with boosted bass. Its bass reaches about 35Hz before falling 10dB, against 52Hz for the Soundcore Motion Boom+. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Soundcore Motion Boom+ lacks. The catch: Just a little over half as loud as the higher rated boomboxes.

Buy the Harman Kardon Go + Play 3. It is rated higher for sound quality; the Soundcore Motion Boom+ is no longer sold new.
If water resistance matters to you, the Soundcore Motion Boom+ at IP67 (brief submersion) holds up far better than the Harman Kardon Go + Play 3 at no water resistance.

Pros: Warm sound with boosted bass. Deepest bass out of any speaker in this size. Sound is more natural than the Harman Kardon Go + Play 2. An aux input, a built-in microphone, a power bank function, stereo pairing and hidden button combinations for adjusting bass and treble. Measured bass extension of 35Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Just a little over half as loud as the higher rated boomboxes. Only 8 hours of battery at medium volume. No water rating.
Setup: Use the hidden EQ modes to adjust the bass up when outside and down when inside. To adjust bass, quickly press the bluetooth and volume down buttons together, the number of light flashes tell you what mode you’re in. To adjust treble, quickly press the volume up and phone buttons at the same time, the number of yellow flashes on the light tell you what mode you are in.

Pros: 80W stereo from dual 30W woofers + dual 10W tweeters with titanium drivers for treble clarity. 13,400mAh battery for 20 hours (12-15 at high volume). IP67 waterproof, floats, rugged build inspires confidence. Bluetooth 5.3 multipoint pairing, Soundcore app EQ, PartyCast 2.0 mode. USB-C input, USB-A output for powerbank. Measured bass extension of 52Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Default presets are all warm sounding with rolled off treble. Will need a custom EQ to get closer to neutral. A shrill sounding 6kHz peak comes out when volume is above about 60%. Not much deeper bass than a Soundcore Motion Boom and a lot less deep bass than other speakers in the class. Discontinued.
