Soundcore Motion+ vs Soundcore 3

Last updated: October 3, 2026

Short answer: the Soundcore 3, if you are buying new. The Soundcore Motion+ ranks higher than it (#3 vs #62 of 157 medium speakers, 4.4/5 vs 3.4/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the Soundcore 3 is still sold new at $59.99.

Soundcore Motion+ vs Soundcore 3

The Soundcore Motion+ is the better-sounding, deeper-bass option. The previous best sounding in class, still a great speaker with separate tweeters, more bass at full volume and better off-axis treble frequency response than the Uboom L. Its bass reaches about 54Hz before falling 10dB, against 60Hz for the Soundcore 3. Alan Ross Reviews measured it at 104dB at full volume, against 99dB for the Soundcore 3. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Soundcore 3 lacks. The tradeoff: Not quite as neutral or detailed as the Uboom L.

The Soundcore 3 is the longer-running, lighter choice. Identical in acoustic design and performance to the retailer variant Soundcore Select 2. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 12 for the Soundcore Motion+. At 0.8 lbs (372 g) it weighs much less than the Soundcore Motion+ at 2.3 lbs (1.05 kg). It links with other speakers (PartyCast up to 100 speakers), which the Soundcore Motion+ cannot.

Buy the Soundcore 3 if you want one new; the Soundcore Motion+ is discontinued, so only look for it used.

Soundcore Motion+ ranking card

Newer model: the Soundcore Motion 300, ranked higher, rated 4.5/5.

Pros: The previous best sounding in class, still a great speaker with separate tweeters, more bass at full volume and better off-axis treble frequency response than the Uboom L. Just okay with the default EQ, I highly recommend using this EQ setting from r/kai7895 to get it more neutral. To achieve the absolute best sound you’ll need the Wavelet app (Android only) and set the provided Wavelet EQ in there too. Turn off the wavelet EQ for outdoor use. An alternative is Oluv’s EQ which only needs the Soundcore app EQ. Measured bass extension of 54Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Not quite as neutral or detailed as the Uboom L. Without the above EQ, this speaker will rank around #25 in the rankings. Discontinued.
