Short answer: it depends on whether you want a speaker or a karaoke rig. The Boom 2 ranks #10 of 76 large speakers at $89.99; the K8 ranks #47 of 71 in the boombox class at $40, $50 less.
The K8 is built around karaoke, not raw sound. Our own pros call it completely insane value for the money, bundling two metal-body wireless microphones, an infrared remote, and a voice-delete function that works quite well. Its cons describe a very V-curved response with boosted treble and recessed midbass.
The Boom 2 needs its own EQ correction to reach its ranked potential, moving from around #24 on stock tuning to #10 once a reviewer EQ is applied, with a single midrange driver as its structural limitation.
Buy the Boom 2 for the better pure speaker, once EQ’d. Buy the K8 if the bundled wireless microphones and karaoke features are what you actually need.

The Two Speakers In Full
Soundcore Boom 2: $89.99 Amazon Bhphotovideo
Pros: Pretty deep bass for the size. Cool lights in the side passive radiators. For the best sound quality use Oluv’s EQ or Alan Ross’s EQ. With the stock tuning, this speaker would rank around #24, due to the boosted bass and rising treble.
Cons: Only a single midrange driver, so you only get stereo for the tweeters. Sound processing issues with inconsistent bass notes that disappear at low levels like the Soundcore Boom and Soundcore Boost, not great for listening at low levels. Quite bass heavy with BassUp turned on, I’d recommend turning it off. A little bit of a bright tuning in the treble, about +5db.

ZZA K8: $40 after clipped coupon Amazon
Pros: Completely insane value for the money. Comes with 2 metal body wireless microphones that are USB-C chargeable. Comes with Chinese labeled infrared remote control. Has voice delete function that works quite well. Adjustable microphone reverb. Pretty good build quality. The default EQ is the most balanced, the other two sound muffled.
Cons: Very V curve frequency response, can be harsh in the treble range. Treble is boosted a good +10dB. Midbass is recessed. Slight distortion issue at all volume levels due to the bass high pass filter being set too low
