The case for the Soundcore Boom 2: Pretty deep bass for its size, cool lighting effects built into the side passive radiators, and with Oluv’s or Alan Ross’s custom EQ applied, sound quality that’s a big step up from the boosted-bass, rising-treble stock tuning (which alone would only rank around #24). The catch: only a single midrange driver means true stereo is limited to the tweeters, bass notes can disappear inconsistently at low volumes, BassUp mode makes it too bass-heavy to recommend, and the stock treble runs about 5dB hot.
What the Soundcore Rave Neo 2 gets right: A big improvement in sound quality over the original Rave Neo, with a Bass Up mode worth using at higher volumes and best left off at lower ones. Set against that: a slight treble rolloff.
Buy the Soundcore Boom 2. It ranks higher for sound quality than the Soundcore Rave Neo 2 and costs less, so there is no real case for the other one.

Pros: Pretty deep bass for the size. Cool lights in the side passive radiators. For the best sound quality use Oluv’s EQ or Alan Ross’s EQ. With the stock tuning, this speaker would rank around #24, due to the boosted bass and rising treble.
Cons: Only a single midrange driver, so you only get stereo for the tweeters. Sound processing issues with inconsistent bass notes that disappear at low levels like the Soundcore Boom and Soundcore Boost, not great for listening at low levels. Quite bass heavy with BassUp turned on, I’d recommend turning it off. A little bit of a bright tuning in the treble, about +5db.
