Soundcore Boom 2 vs Soundcore Boom 2 Pro

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Different classes, so treat this as a step-up-or-not question rather than a head-to-head. The Soundcore Boom 2 ranks #10 of 105 large speakers by sound quality at $91.99; the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro ranks #38 of 98 boombox speakers by sound quality at $139.99.

Soundcore Boom 2 vs Soundcore Boom 2 Pro

The Soundcore Boom 2 is the lighter choice. Pretty deep bass for the size. At 3.7 lbs (1.68 kg) it weighs much less than the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro at 8.4 lbs (3.8 kg). Watch for: Only a single midrange driver, so you only get stereo for the tweeters.

The case for the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro: A tougher version of the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus with IP68 dust and water protection instead of IPX7, a metal front grille, and a body that floats. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Soundcore Boom 2 lacks. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Soundcore Boom 2 lacks. Watch for: No side-by-side sound comparisons yet, so its rating is estimated from the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus, which shares its drivers and amplifier.

Buy the Soundcore Boom 2 ($91.99) for a large speaker; the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro ($139.99) suits a boombox speaker instead.

Worth knowing: the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro has not been measured yet. Its rating is estimated from related models, with a likely range of 3.4 to 3.8, so treat this verdict as provisional.

Older model: the Soundcore Motion Boom (ranked lower, rated 4.5/5). See every Soundcore Boom generation.

Same family: the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus (larger model, rated 3.6/5).

Pros: Pretty deep bass for the size. Cool lights in the side passive radiators. For the best sound quality use Oluv’s EQ or Alan Ross’s EQ. With the stock tuning, this speaker would rank around #24, due to the boosted bass and rising treble. Measured bass extension of 47Hz (-10dB).

Cons: Only a single midrange driver, so you only get stereo for the tweeters. Sound processing issues with inconsistent bass notes that disappear at low levels like the Soundcore Boom and Soundcore Boost, not great for listening at low levels. Quite bass heavy with BassUp turned on, which is best left off. A little bit of a bright tuning in the treble, about +5db.

Soundcore Boom 2 Pro ranking card

Pros: A tougher version of the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus with IP68 dust and water protection instead of IPX7, a metal front grille, and a body that floats. Inside it is the same 140W design with two woofers and two tweeters for real stereo, plenty of bass with BassUp, a 9 band app EQ, aux input, a detachable shoulder strap, a 10W USB-C power bank and PartyCast for linking more speakers.

Cons: No side-by-side sound comparisons yet, so its rating is estimated from the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus, which shares its drivers and amplifier. That means the same warm stock tuning with upper bass boost and a dip from the upper mids into the treble that dulls vocals, and owners say it needs EQ. Reviewers found it loses fullness and gets a bit fatiguing at its very highest volume.
