These are not really the same size class, and that is the honest framing here. The Soundcore Boom 2 ranks #10 of 82 large speakers by sound quality at $89.98; the Bose Soundlink Flex ranks #36 of 144 medium speakers by sound quality at $79.99.
Different sizes. The Boom 2 is a large speaker at 1.68 kg. The Flex is a medium at 589 g that clips to a bag and floats. Each is rated within its own class.
The Boom 2 is far louder and deeper. It reaches about 105dB measured and down to roughly 47Hz. The Flex measures about 96dB and reaches 56Hz. The Boom 2 also has partial stereo from two tweeters, a claimed 24 hours of battery against 12, and a power bank output.
The Flex is warm with heavily boosted bass that can drown out midrange detail, and it has no EQ adjustment. The Boom 2 needs EQ too: turn BassUp off and use one of the community EQs linked on its page for its best sound.
The Flex is the easier one to carry, it is IP67 against the Boom 2’s IPX7, and it has a built-in microphone.
Buy the Soundcore Boom 2 at $89.98 if you want a large speaker. Buy the Bose Soundlink Flex at $79.99 if you want a medium speaker instead.

Older model: the Soundcore Motion Boom (rated 4.5/5).
Pros: Pretty deep bass for the size. Cool lights in the side passive radiators. For the best sound quality use Oluv’s EQ or Alan Ross’s EQ. With the stock tuning, this speaker would rank around #24, due to the boosted bass and rising treble. Measured bass extension of 47Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Only a single midrange driver, so you only get stereo for the tweeters. Sound processing issues with inconsistent bass notes that disappear at low levels like the Soundcore Boom and Soundcore Boost, not great for listening at low levels. Quite bass heavy with BassUp turned on, which is best left off. A little bit of a bright tuning in the treble, about +5db.
