Neither prioritizes deep bass over sheer loudness, so don’t expect either to be a bass showcase.
The Soundboks 4’s real advantage is battery life and size. It’s rated for 40 hours on a removable battery against 12+ hours for the Everse 12, and it packs dual 10-inch woofers into a very large cabinet. The Everse 12 counters with a single 12-inch woofer in a notably smaller footprint and lighter weight (31.3 lbs against 34 lbs), plus an XLR input and USB-C power bank function that the Soundboks 4 lacks.
A few other differences matter depending on use: the Soundboks 4 is stereo and the Everse 12 is not, the Soundboks 4 carries a higher IP65 water rating against IP43 for the Everse 12, and the Soundboks 4 supports SKAA wireless alongside Bluetooth.
Buy the Electro-Voice Everse 12 for better measured sound quality at extreme volume, a lower price, and a more compact build, unless very long battery life matters more to you.
Buy the Soundboks 4 if you need the longest possible battery life, stereo sound, or the highest water resistance in this pair, and can accept a larger, heavier cabinet.
