Short answer: the XS15-BASE for the higher output and deeper extension. Its 15-inch sealed driver reaches 118.2dB CEA-2010-A average, offering deeper bass extension and slower room modes, against 117.8dB from the XS15SE. The SE’s advantage is packaging: the same 15-inch sealed driver in a compact sealed enclosure, for $200 more at $1,499 versus $1,299.
Buy the Power Sound Audio (PSA) XS15-BASE only if you find one used in good condition; both are discontinued, and it is the better rated of the two. For a new speaker, start with the HSU Research ULS-15 MK2 instead.
