Short answer: the LG Xboom Go PL7, though neither ranks well in its class. It ranks #78 of 85 large speakers by sound quality, rated 2.4/5, at $70; the Soundcore Trance/Rave Mega ranks #81, rated 2.1/5, and costs $249, which makes this an easy call rather than a real tradeoff. Both are rated below 3.0/5 among the 85 large speakers, so if sound quality matters, consider the Tribit Stormbox Lava instead, ranked #3 at $100.
Why pick the LG Xboom Go PL7: A 1.45kg portable with IPX7 protection, a claimed 24-hour battery, aux input, speakerphone capability, stereo pairing and Wireless Party Link. The catch: Independent testing finds weak low-bass and top-end extension, a narrow soundstage and uneven off-axis response.
The case for the Soundcore Trance/Rave Mega: 80W power with 105dB output, BassUp technology for body-shaking bass. Watch for: Hugely recessed mids and treble.
One note: the LG Xboom Go PL7 is discontinued and no longer widely available new.
Buy the LG Xboom Go PL7. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Soundcore Trance/Rave Mega and costs less, so only choose the other one for a particular feature it does better.

The Two Speakers In Full
LG Xboom Go PL7: $70 Discontinued LG eBay
Pros: A 1.45kg portable with IPX7 protection, a claimed 24-hour battery, aux input, speakerphone capability, stereo pairing and Wireless Party Link. It plays fairly loudly for its size with few obvious artifacts, and its LED-rimmed passive radiators make it a practical, fun choice for casual outdoor listening.
Cons: Independent testing finds weak low-bass and top-end extension, a narrow soundstage and uneven off-axis response. The default Sound Boost processing can make the upper mids and treble aggressive; turning it off improves balance but does not transform it into a detailed or deep-bass speaker. It has no user EQ to properly tailor the result. Discontinued.
