Its vendor data shows a 6.62 ideal-subwoofer preference score with 60Hz measured extension, one of the strongest results in this size class, from a 3-inch-diaphragm compression driver on an 80° x 40° horn claiming 133dB peak. The PRX912’s own data still lands respectably at 5.16 with 54Hz extension, but its own cons note less even sound-power behavior than the class leaders, trailing the EX12 here.
The PRX912 wins on everyday usability. It has JBL Pro Connect app control and deep onboard DSP, useful for tuning and monitoring from a phone, while the EX12 has no onboard mixer, app control or general-purpose parametric EQ, just integrated crossover, phase alignment, EQ and protection with no user-facing adjustment beyond that.
