Short answer: the Soundcore Motion+ for sound quality, the Klipsch Austin for size. The Motion+ was the previous best sounding in class and remains a great speaker with separate tweeters, though it is not quite as neutral or detailed as the Uboom L. The Austin’s dual passive radiators give it more low-end presence than most mini speakers, but its bass is not as deep as higher ranked speakers. $54.95 against $79.99.
One note: the Soundcore Motion+ is no longer sold new, but at #4 of 179 medium speakers by sound quality it still outranks most current models, so used is worth considering. The Soundcore Motion+’s replacement, the Soundcore Motion 300, is still sold new.
Buy the Klipsch Austin at $54.95 if you want a small speaker. Buy the Soundcore Motion+ at $79.99 if you want a medium speaker instead.
