Short answer: the Partybox 720, and availability alone may decide it. It ranks #5 of 12 large party speakers at $1099.95. The Rockster ranks #8 at €950 and, per our notes, is only available in Europe.
The Rockster’s claim to fame is being the loudest battery-powered speaker on the site, with deeper bass than the Soundboks 2 and 3. The tradeoff is real: extremely heavy and genuinely difficult to move, with no stereo mode at all.
The Partybox 720 is described in our own notes as the biggest, best-sounding speaker with a battery, and it’s not exactly convenient either: very large and heavy, with a default tuning our notes call somewhat dark until you dial in some treble boost.
Buy the Partybox 720 if you’re outside Europe or want JBL’s ecosystem and lightshow. Buy the Rockster only if you’re in Europe and specifically want the loudest option available.
Battery life favors the Teufel Rockster: rated for 30 hours against 15 hours for the JBL Partybox 720.
There is a real gap in water resistance: the JBL Partybox 720 at IPX4 (splashing) against the Teufel Rockster, which has no water resistance.

Pros: JBL’s most powerful battery-equipped PartyBox combines 800W output, two removable batteries, wheels, a light show, Auracast, USB-C playback, app EQ and karaoke/guitar inputs. Independent testing confirms very high output, strong bass and a flexible 5- or 7-band EQ; it can easily cover a backyard or large event.
Cons: At 31kg and 94cm tall, it is still cumbersome despite the wheels. Its front-facing vertical driver layout gives uneven sound to listeners at the sides or behind it, bass compresses at very high volume and reviewers note a faint hiss. The default is dark/bass-heavy, so use the app EQ and do not expect a neutral indoor hi-fi speaker.
